American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)
NINDS conducts and supports research on brain and nervous system disorders and provides information on these disorders:

Center for Medical Home Improvement
A medical home is a process of care offered by primary care providers in partnership with families of children with special health care needs (CSHCN). Children and families are recognized, welcomed and supported by their community based medical homes.
Bright Futures for Families
Provides families with family-friendly child health and development information and materials based on the Bright Futures Guidelines used by health professionals across the country.
Developmental Disabilities and Oral Health (National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research)
Includes practical care guide for people with autism as well as everyday care information for caregivers

Missouri Bureau of Special Health Care Needs
Provides programs and assistance with health care coordination and funding for children and adults with special health care needs. Includes a list of Missouri health care providers for children with special needs.
Family Partnership Program
Family Partnership is part of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Special Health Care Needs. It was developed to assist individuals with special needs and their families in building relationships with other families in similar situations and in obtaining useful information regarding health care benefits and choosing insurance plans.
Family Resource Service
The MO-PEDS project assists parents in coordinating health care services for their child with special needs.
Missouri Division of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Autism Program
Includes autism fact sheet, extensive resources guide, Missouri research agenda, camps for children with autism and more.
- Eleven Regional Centers in the state serve children with developmental disabilities. Regional centers provide assessment and case management services. They are the primary points of entry into the system. Families and children may also be referred to one of five regional autism projects that collectively provide services to approximately 2500 families statewide. The programs and services are designed to assist in skill development of individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and provide needed training and support for families.

The Judevine Center for Autism provides evaluations and assessments; specialized parent training; specialized training for professionals; training and consultation; workshops and seminars; family support; clinical therapies; transitional treatment; adult programs and support; and residential services for Missourians and beyond.

Includes information on the Missouri Children’s Health Insurance Program, Missouri Healthnet, Medicaid, the Missouri Rx (prescription drug) program and more.
Missouri Care Health Plan
Established by the University of Missouri, the Missouri Care Health Plan is a managed care health plan that serves 18 counties in central Missouri. It provides coverage for all MC+ Managed Care health programs, including MC+ for Kids, MC+ for Pregnant Women and MC+ for Parents in mid-Missouri.
Social Security Disability Starter Kits
The Disability Starter Kit will help you get ready for your disability interview or online application. Kits are available for adults and children under age 18. The kits also provide general information about the disability programs and the decision-making process that can help take some of the mystery out of applying for disability benefits.
