Thompson Center Research Application

Protocol for Submitting Thompson Center Research Applications

The Thompson Center (TC) requires that lead investigators complete a research application prior to beginning research studies conducted with participants recruited from the TC. This allows TC staff to respond to any questions that may arise from families, and it ensures compliance with IRB guidelines for studies conducted with TC participants.

  • Investigators may access the TC research application form online at the Thompson Center website under “Research”, or on the Thompson Center T: Drive under Division-Research/research application form.
  • The form should be completed and emailed to the Director of Academic Programs for approval along with a scanned copy of the project’s IRB approval notice. Allow at least one week for review and approval.
  • If the request is approved, the investigator will receive an approval letter from the Director of Academic Programs outlining any steps that must be taken prior to beginning the research project.   If the request is not approved, the Director of Academic Programs will speak with the investigator to identify additional information needed for approval.
  • It will be the responsibility of the investigator to provide updated documentation for the approved research application file until the completion of the study (e.g., changes to study staff).
