Early Behavioral Intervention Services

Download a copy of this document

The early behavioral intervention services offered by the Thompson Center focus on the developmental needs of young children with an emphasis on broad-based developmental and behavioral assessment, intervention planning, training, and follow-up. Services are continually expanding to meet the ongoing needs of the individuals and families we serve.

Plan for Developmental Intervention

This is a short-term clinic-based service for young children (ages 18 months through 8 years) that provides developmental assessments of skills and behaviors, along with short-term consultation and training, and development of an intervention plan. The focus is on developing an initial plan for improving specific skills areas (including behavioral, communication, adaptive, etc.) and reducing problem behavior. This service often serves as a bridge between diagnosis and entry into community-based intervention.

Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention

This program provides long-term community-based developmental and behavioral consultation for children between the ages of 18 months through 8 years with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), other neurodevelopmental disorders or developmental delays. It includes training for parents, implementers and teachers in behavioral interventions and ways to enhance development.
