Behavior and Education Services

The behavior and education services offered by the Thompson Center focus on the developmental needs of persons of all ages with an emphasis on behavior and education assessment and intervention. Services are continually expanding to meet the ongoing needs of the individuals we serve.

Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention

This program provides behavioral consultation for children between the ages of 0-8 years with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It includes training for implementers, parents and teachers in behavioral interventions and ways to enhance development.

Behavior Support Clinic

The clinic provides developmental, behavioral and educational evaluation services designed to identify and prioritize instructional and intervention goals.

Social Competence Intervention

This program uses cognitive and behavioral interventions to support the needs of children and youth with autism spectrum disorders who have difficulties interacting with others in everyday settings. This approach brings together a group of youngsters with similar needs, and individualized assessments and goals are developed for each participant in order to maximize success in the program.

Integrated Support Services for Young Adults

This program offers a coordinated set of activities for adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, designed to promote movement from school to post-school activities such as: college, vocational training, supported employment and/or community participation.
