Behavioral and Educational Consultation Services

The behavioral and educational services offered by the Thompson Center focus on the developmental needs of children and adolescents with an emphasis on behavioral and educational assessment, intervention planning, training and follow up. Services are continually expanding to meet the ongoing needs of the individuals we serve.

Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention

This program provides behavioral consultation for children between the ages of 0-8 years with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It includes training for implementers, parents and teachers in behavioral interventions and ways to enhance development.

Behavioral Supports Clinic

The clinic provides comprehensive clinic-based functional assessments of skills and behaviors, along with short-term consultation, training, and follow-up.. The focus is on improving specific skill areas (including behavioral, communication, adaptive, etc.) and reducing problem behaviors.

Social Competence Intervention

This program uses cognitive and behavioral interventions to support the needs of children and youth with autism spectrum disorders who have difficulties interacting with others in everyday settings. This approach brings together a group of youngsters with similar needs, and individualized assessments and goals are developed for each participant in order to maximize success in the program.
