Integrated Support Services for Young Adults

Integrated support services are a coordinated set of activities, designed to promote movement from school to post school activities including: post-secondary education, vocational training, supported employment, accessing resources and community participation. These services focus on the integration of services for individuals to increase independence and self-sufficiency.
Individual Needs Typically Addressed
- Between the ages of 14-21
- Diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other neurodevelopmental disorder
Typical services provided
- Transition assessment
This process will provide universal assessments that give insight to the family and student regarding the individual’s strengths and needs for the transition process. - Consultation for Individual Education Plan (IEP) transition objectives
Consultation for students and families, which focuses on proposed IEP goals relating to transition services. Recommendations can be provided to enhance or supplement the proposed goals, as needed, to meet the individuals needs. - Completion of adult service applications
Assistance with the completion of adult service applications while also providing insight to the necessary processes and required information. - Vocational and functional assessments
Vocational and career based assessments that are designed to evaluate interest and guide choices and careers related to higher education. Functional assessments that are designed to determine the student’s strengths and develop strategies that support independent living (i.e. adaptive living skills, self-determination, etc.) - Volunteer work services
Coordinated services with the University of Missouri, which provide transition-aged youth with the opportunity to develop independence, responsibility and job readiness skills through volunteering.
