GAIN: Global Autism Interactive Network

The Global Autism Interactive Network (GAIN) is a professional development program designed to improve proficiency on the ADOS-2, the gold-standard autism diagnostic test, while creating with a network of fellow ADOS-2 implementers.

GAIN is led by the preeminent national ADOS-2 trainers, including Dr. Stephen Kanne, Dr. Somer Bishop, Dr. Vanessa Bal, and Dr. Amy Esler.

Using video conferencing technology accessible from home or the office, GAIN occurs on the 4th Friday of every month from 11:45 a.m. — 1:15 p.m. CST. Webinars will be recorded for later viewing convenience.

Participation in GAIN will:

—Increase ADOS-2 competence;

—Reduce financial barriers and provide ongoing support;

—Provide the opportunity to learn from trainers from all over the world;

—Promote fidelity of administration and validity of coding in clinical settings;

—Provide opportunities to submit ADOS-2s for calibration and feedback using fidelity checklists;

—Provide opportunities for “practice” for researchers working toward reliability;

—Support maintenance of reliability for ADOS-2 for experienced clinicians and researchers;

—Improve knowledge for leaders who may be training students/clinicians/research teams at their sites;

—Provide a platform for international calibration of the ADOS-2; 

—Increase collaboration and build connections with practitioners and instructors across the globe;

Learning Objectives:

Participates in GAIN will:

—Describe the administration and intent/purpose of the tasks in the module discussed in the webinar;

—Describe the meaning of the specific codes on the module discussed in the webinar;

—Evaluate their and others’ administration of the ADOS-2 module presented in the webinar.
