Our families juggle many questions on a daily basis, from what foods to eat to what educational services are available, as they seek the best care for their children. As a parent myself, I completely understand the complex and overwhelming task of sorting through vast amounts of information and recommendations, from newly published research to specialized medical services, to ensure the best possible outcomes for my child.
As a psychologist and the executive director of the Thompson Center, I hear these questions directly from families, and I also receive feedback from our providers about the concerns families have most often. In every situation, our mission remains the same: to provide the best possible care and resources for your family. At the Thompson Center, our medical team has the expertise to evaluate new information and recommendations, address the often-complex needs of neurodivergent patients, draw on the strongest scientific evidence, and guide families in making informed decisions.

If you have questions about your child’s health, whether related to medication, interventions, back-to-school readiness, or access to care, I highly recommend that you share your questions with your trusted medical provider. These conversations are critical for understanding your child’s needs and determining the best next step for your family.
As caregivers and parents ourselves, we understand the complex questions you may have about your child’s health. More than anything, we want to be part of that conversation, address your concerns, and walk alongside you as we determine the best care for your child’s particular needs. If your family has questions, I encourage you to reach out to your care team at the Thompson Center or your family’s medical provider.
