TEAM

The Train Experts in Autism for Missouri (TEAM) initiative is dedicated to providing FREE training and follow-up support to professionals working with autism.

We understand that each agency, office, or organization has unique needs, and we develop tailored training plans to help you structure effective programs and procedures for supporting autistic students, patients, and clients. Our research-supported practices ensure that you have access to the latest strategies in the field. Our commitment doesn’t stop with the initial training; we offer ongoing support to meet your evolving needs. With TEAM, you can empower your team and create a more inclusive environment.

TEAM trainings are available for:

  • Educational providers: special and general education teachers (K-12), First Steps providers, early childhood providers, administrators, and support staff
  • Health professionals: pediatricians, psychologists, neurologists, nurse, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, and physical therapists
  • Applied behavior analysts: Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Assistant Behavior Analysts, and Registered Behavior Technicians
  • Care coordination specialists: job coaches, social workers, residential managers/staff, patient navigators, and parent mentors

We also provide one-on-one follow-up support with professionals to ensure improved outcomes and program quality meet your goals for improvement.

TEAM offers free training for special and general education teachers (K-12), First Steps providers, early childhood teachers, educational administrators, and support staff in Missouri who want to support improved educational outcomes for children with autism.

Classroom Consultation

The purpose of the consultation is to provide individualized professional development for classrooms that are currently supporting students with autism. The consultation includes in-person observation from Thompson Center staff followed by personalized feedback including strengths and recommendations.

Season 1, Episode 19: Classroom Consultations: How We Support & What We Have Learned

District Level Training

We provide large-group trainings at the district level for a range of topics listed below. We can also coordinate follow-up with key district support personnel for consultation, feedback, and to provide tools to structure programming and monitor intervention fidelity.

Classroom Level Training

For groups large and small, we provide tools to structure programs and monitor the quality of classroom interventions through trainings on the topics listed below. We also provide tailored follow-up with coaching, modeling, and feedback on interventions with each school personnel in the group, either in person or via video observation.

TEAM offers free trainings for pediatricians, psychologists, neurologists, nurses and nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, and physical therapists who would like to learn tools to support serving patients with autism.

In-Office Trainings

  • Trainings to support patients with autism in your medical practice (e.g., doctor/dental office, outpatient procedures, emergency rooms). Focus on supportive strategies to improve patient care and decrease patient stress.
  • Follow up training and support offered with tools individualized to your location

TEAM offers free training opportunities to Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Assistant Behavior Analysts, and Registered Behavior Technicians who want to explore more advanced topics supporting outcomes for their patients with autism, including training new implementers under BCBA supervision.

ABA Trainings

  • Training and ongoing support on advanced topics in ABA
  • Registered Behavior Technician Training (for groups of 10 or more with a supervising BCBA/BCaBA) *upon request only

TEAM offers free trainings to job coaches, social workers, residential managers and staff, patient navigators, and parent mentors who would like tools and support for improving outcomes for their clients with autism.

  • Training and ongoing support on how to support adults with autism and increase overall independence
  • Follow up training and support offered with tools individualized to your location
