Signs, Symptoms, Referral for Autism – Dr. Jena Randolph, PhD

 

This session will provide information on early signs of possible autism in young children that can be considered “red flags” of developmental concerns. Screening and referring for diagnostic evaluations and support services when there are concerns for autism will be discussed.

This session will provide strategies for increasing communication and engagement for children with emergent language skills using evidenced based intervention.

This session will identify the common functions of problem behavior and describe the 3 “C”s (Communication, Clear Expectations, & Create
Motivation) of how to address problem behavior.

Toilet Training Children with Disabilities – Brooke Barnes, MA

 

Toilet training children with disabilities is a common challenge for educators and caregivers. This session will highlight strategies and resources for increasing independence with toileting as well as how to tackle common toileting issues like constipation.

Peer-Mediated Interventions:  Promoting Social Interactions for Children with Disabilities – Brooke Barnes, MA

 

Peer Mediated Interventions focus on developing social communications skills for children with disabilities through structured interactions with classmates. This session will provide an overview of the use of peer mediation to increase social engagement for children with disabilities.
