Each year the Thompson Center hosts an autism conference to educate and provide support for parents and professionals who work with individuals with autism spectrum disorders, including educators, psychologists, speech/language pathologists, medical professionals, applied behavior analysts, employment specialists, vocational rehabilitation counselors, service coordinators and advocates.
The conference aims to provide an atmosphere of hope and upholds a commitment to sharing comprehensive, up-to-date coverage of assessment and intervention strategies supported by research. Breakout sessions offered in three different strands: Current Topics in Autism Research, Applied Behavior Analysis in Practice and Autism in the Schools.
The 12th annual Autism Conference will be held Sept. 21-22, 2017, at the DoubleTree St. Louis Hotel in Chesterfield, Mo. This year, we are also adding a one-day Parent Conference on Sept. 20, for family members and caregivers.
Our keynote speakers this year will be Dr. Wendy Chung, Director of Clinical Research at the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative, and Dr. James McPartland, Director of Yale University Developmental Disabilities Clinic.
